Marketers Will Pay Naira for Dangote Fuel -IPMAN

Aliko Dangote Refined petroleum products from the $20bn Dangote Petroleum Refinery are to be sold in naira and not in the United States dollar as speculated in some quarters, oil marketers clarified on Monday. Dealers in the downstream oil sector also stated that the registration process for marketers at the refinery was still ongoing, as many operators had continued to register with the plant. It was further gathered that officials of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority were meeting with the management of the refinery to perfect the pricing template for products produced by the facility. Operation Delta Safe: 5 militants arrested, payroll recovered

ilitary personnel of Operation Delta Safe, fighting militancy in the Niger Delta, have arrested five suspected militants in separate operations, rescued two kidnapped women and recovered a document alleged to be a list militants and how they are paid. The operatives also carried out several clearance operations of militant’s hideouts and destroyed illegal refineries and bunkering sites. Making the disclosure in a statement, Deputy Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre, of Delta Safe, Lt. Commander Thomas Otuji, said that a document containing names of 30 persons suspected to be militants of the Bakassi Strike Force, BSF, had been recovered by the troops of Joint Task Force, JTF. Otuji noted that the document was found when the troops stormed the hideout of the militants at Efut Esighi, Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State, noting that the troops also combed another hideout of the militants at Creek Road by Slaughter in Anantigha, Calabar South, where other incriminating items were found. He said that during the raids, which were carried out in company with the Special Boat Services of the Navy, the troop arrested three suspected militants, including one Moses Okokon, popularly known in the creeks as Alomo. “When the vehicle seized from Alomo was searched, sentry duty rosters, 73 wraps of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and a payroll were found,” he said. According to him, “troops of Sector 4, while on patrol, apprehended two suspected militants that stole two high-powered outboard boat engines from boat operators. “They were about selling the engines at Aqua Beach when the troops arrested them. The arrested suspects, Mr. Elijah Daniel and Francis Shedrack, were subsequently handed over to Nigeria Police Force for further action.”
