Afenifere spokesman, Yinka Odumakin, however, told The PUNCH on Saturday that it was unfortunate that after Fulani herdsmen had disrupted farming in the South-West, their northern compatriots could go ahead to impose a food trade restriction on the South-West. The northern groups also demanded billions in compensation for their members killed and properties destroyed during the Sasa crisis in Ibadan, Oyo State and the EndSARS protests in the western and eastern parts of the country.
Truckloads of food items from the North were on Friday stopped by northern trade unions from entering Kwara State and the South-West. Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, says it is unfortunate that after herdsmen disrupted farming activities in the South-West, northern traders have now decided to block the supply of food to the South-West who are the real victims.
