Food Blockage: Middlebelt Forum Condemns Alleged Food Blockage to Southern Nigeria – TBEN

The Middle Belt Forum, MBF, described as orchestrated and not patriotic, the distribution of a video clip alleging an illegal blockage of food items south from the north to a village of Jebba in Niger state by people unidentified.

The forum which claimed to oppose such actions warned that it was able to create a wedge and widen the already fragile nature of Nigerian business existence.

The MBF in a statement issued by its national president, Dr Pogu Bitrus, said that preventing food products from leaving the north to the south was not only criminal, but an attempt to throw the entire nation into chaos. .

“We are not only stunned by this act which we believe orchestrated by certain unpatriotic elements, but also shocked by this contemptible action.

He called on the federal government and other relevant security agencies to flush out the hooligans to deter retaliation from the southern part.

“Amid the ongoing banditry in various parts of the country, the deliberate blockage of food is nothing less than another form of terrorism against Nigerians. As a nation, we cannot afford to fight these kids and bandits with kid gloves.


He explained that the federal government must do something drastic to send clear signals that outlaw anyone who threatens the country.

“If we are to take our nation back from these demons of destruction, we must never negotiate and treat them gently,” the forum advised.

He explained that as an umbrella organization for all Middle Belt ethnic nationalities, the forum strongly believes that the only way for a prosperous Nigeria is to restructure, stressing that this would not only expand the country’s potentials but would give ethnic nationalities to the Nigerian nation. a space to develop and fully realize their potential.


The forum advised: “We must avoid any form of aggressive tendencies to resist and enthronate the victory of non-patriotic elements. If certain elements were to block the transport of petroleum products to the North from the South as retaliatory measures, what would be the likely consequences for our nation? “
