Marketers Will Pay Naira for Dangote Fuel -IPMAN

Aliko Dangote Refined petroleum products from the $20bn Dangote Petroleum Refinery are to be sold in naira and not in the United States dollar as speculated in some quarters, oil marketers clarified on Monday. Dealers in the downstream oil sector also stated that the registration process for marketers at the refinery was still ongoing, as many operators had continued to register with the plant. It was further gathered that officials of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority were meeting with the management of the refinery to perfect the pricing template for products produced by the facility. 37 Herdsmen and over 5,000 cows evicted from Ondo Forest reserves- Amotekuns

Following the fight against the Fulani Herdsmen in the Yoruba land, the Amotekuns have sent away 37 herdmen and over 5,000 cows from Ondo Forest Reserve




According to reports, the herdsmen were ejected from the forests for flouting the rules laid down by the governor of Ondo state. Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu that herdsmen grazing in the forest reserves should either register with the appropriate agencies or vacate the reserve.

This comes a few weeks after the governor opened, night and under-aged grazing in the state as part of measures to curb the prevailing security situation in the state.

According to the Amotekuns, the herders refused to vacate the forest reserves, and this prompted them to swing into action by evicting them from the forest reserves.

The State Commander of Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye has also confirmed that the eviction will be total as most of the herders had vowed not to comply with the registration order of the state government.

“Some of them have opted to leave the state because they couldn’t meet with our terms and conditions… They came through the Chairman of Miyatti Allah in the state. Some opted to go to Osun, Edo, and Kogi States. So our men escorted them, to the boundaries of those states. We have to monitor their movements out of the state so that they would not destroy farms on their way out…About 37 herders with about 5,000 cows ejected.” Adetunji said
