Marketers Will Pay Naira for Dangote Fuel -IPMAN

Aliko Dangote Refined petroleum products from the $20bn Dangote Petroleum Refinery are to be sold in naira and not in the United States dollar as speculated in some quarters, oil marketers clarified on Monday. Dealers in the downstream oil sector also stated that the registration process for marketers at the refinery was still ongoing, as many operators had continued to register with the plant. Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state has said that Nigeria can do away with the Senate, saying the country can scrap the upper chamber and adopt a unicameral legislature.
The governor made the statement at the just-concluded 25th edition of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group conference, The Cable reports.
Legit.ng gathers Governor Fayemi said that Nigeria has to look into the size of government, emphasising that he is an advocate of a unicameral legislature.
He said: “We do need to look at the size of government in Nigeria and I am an advocate of a unicameral legislature. What we really need is the House of Representatives because that is what represents.
“You have three senators from little Ekiti and you have three senators from Lagos state. It’s a no-brainer that it’s unequal, I guess the principle is not proportionality but that if you are a state, you get it automatically but I think that we can do away with that. There are several things that we can do away within the government."
According to Fayemi, the Oronsaye report that proposed mergers of several MDAs that are doing the same thing is something that the government should pay serious attention to and reduce the resources being expended on them.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, said Nigeria could end poverty in 2030, just 11 years away, if the country diligently implements the policies enshrined in the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
Fayemi said his state would continue to support the SDG vision of making sure that poverty is eradicated across the developing nations, especially Nigeria, in 2030.
Represented by his chief of staff, Biodun Omoleye, Fayemi said in Ado Ekiti during an event commemorating the 2019 international youth day: “The essence of the SDGs is to eradicate poverty globally and make the world a better place to live for everyone by 2030."
