Human consumption of dog meat has been recorded in many parts of the world and other cultures consider the consumption of dog meat a taboo.

In the 21st century, dog eating is consumed in China, Nigeria, Switzerland, Vietnam, and it is eaten or is legal to be eaten in other countries throughout the world.

For some, dog meat prevents them from being attacked by witches and wizards and even makes evil spiritual forces flee from them.

According to a Nigerian teacher, Ike Azuka said, “I visit dog meat joint at least three times a week”. “I do not fear witches because like dogs that have penetrating eyes, witches too see and they feel I have powers that neutralize their power”.

3. Increase man virility

According to the Vietnamese, eating dog meat is said to increase a man’s virility, warm the blood, and help provide medicinal cures. It is considered a widely available, protein-rich, healthy alternative to pork, chicken, and beef.

As a matter of fact, dog meat popularly referred to as ‘404’ by some people is snowballing, compelling sellers to open roadside joints where they butcher and sell the meat, fresh or cooked.

The undocumented health and spiritual benefits of eating this meat have not been accepted by medical and nutrition experts.
