Protest: We will not pay for estimated billings, Oke-Odo Community tells IKEDC

The residents of Oke Odo in the Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA of Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State trooped out in their numbers to protest the against the high tarrifs given to them by the Ikeja Electric.

The protest which had the elderly, Youth and teenagers in attendance was to show their rejection of the very crazy bills given to residents of the community.

Some of the residents who reacted on the estimated billing said, the kind of bill they pay is even more than what they pay as house rent, they lamented that Ikeja Electric are taking undue advantage of the residents of Oke Odo community through estimated billings.

The protesters went to the Oke Odo Police division to inform the police of their intentions of a peaceful protest after which they went to the Oke Odo Undertaking Office of Ikeja Electric.

The residents led by Hon.Lomuwa Faniga said that members of the community will cease to pay electricity bills until an adjustment is made to the abnormally Crazy bills.

Speaking with one of the Youth leaders in the community,he said estimated billings is a systematic way to fraud Nigerians,he pointed out that Ikeja Electric are taking advantage of the peaceful nature of the people of Oke Odo and this is the time the Oke Odo people will speak with one voice.
