Police in Tenerife are investigating the gruesome death of a man in his 40s whose arm was chewed off by a pair of dogs after he suffered stab wounds
He may have been attacked by a third party or inflicted the wounds himself when fighting off the dogs but in the absence of any knife at the scene
Police are searching the area for clues and for any sign of a knife. The man hasn't yet been identified so his nationality isn't known but he is thought to be middle-aged.
A police spokesman confirmed the man's arm had been bitten off by the dogs and they were investigating the circumstances in relation to the stabbing.
He may have been attacked by a third party or inflicted the wounds himself when fighting off the dogs but in the absence of any knife at the scene, the first theory seems more likely.
