Marketers Will Pay Naira for Dangote Fuel -IPMAN

Aliko Dangote Refined petroleum products from the $20bn Dangote Petroleum Refinery are to be sold in naira and not in the United States dollar as speculated in some quarters, oil marketers clarified on Monday. Dealers in the downstream oil sector also stated that the registration process for marketers at the refinery was still ongoing, as many operators had continued to register with the plant. NERC Begins Implementation Of Maps With 1.4m Metres

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), yesterday, announced implementation of Metre Asset Providers (MAPs) by providing permits to two firms.

The Commission issued the permits in accordance with Section four subsection three of MAP Regulations 2018 to firms that were successful in the procurements conducted by Abuja Electricity Distribution Company Plc. (AEDC) and Jos Electricity Distribution Company Plc. (JEDC).The MAP Regulation 2018 requires all electricity distribution licencees to engage MAPs to assist in closing the metering gap, and thus eliminate the practice of estimated billing in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).With this development, over 1.4 millions metres would be provided to utility consumers served by AEDC and JEDC.

A statement endorsed by NERC spokesman, Dr. Usman Arabi, said AEDC appointed Mojec International Limited, Meron Consortium and Turbo Engineering Limited to provide 487,000, 213,000 and 200,000 metres, while JEDC appointed the Triple 7 and Mojec International Limited consortium to provide 500,000 metres.

He said: “The rollout of metres would commence on May 1, 2019. AEDC and JEDC’s customers should expect commencement of rollout date for metres to be installed in their premises within 10 working days of making payment to MAPs, in accordance with Section 18 subsection three of MAP Regulations 2018.

“MAPs shall charge a maximum of N36, 991.50 for single phase metres and N67, 055.85 for three phase metres. These costs are inclusive of supply, installation, maintenance and replacement of metres over its technical life…”
