Marketers Will Pay Naira for Dangote Fuel -IPMAN

Aliko Dangote Refined petroleum products from the $20bn Dangote Petroleum Refinery are to be sold in naira and not in the United States dollar as speculated in some quarters, oil marketers clarified on Monday. Dealers in the downstream oil sector also stated that the registration process for marketers at the refinery was still ongoing, as many operators had continued to register with the plant. It was further gathered that officials of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority were meeting with the management of the refinery to perfect the pricing template for products produced by the facility. On January 12, 2023, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced the commencement of production of Automotive Gas Oil, also known as diesel, and JetA1 or aviation fuel. Zamfara Guber: Marafa reacts as court sacks APC candidates

One of the APC governorship aspirants in Zamfara state, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, has hailed the Appeal Court judgment, which nullified the participation of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2019 elections in Zamfara State.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Sokoto led by Justice Tom Yakubu, had on Monday set aside the judgment of a Zamfara High Court on the APC primaries that produced the party’s candidates for the governorship, National and State Assembly elections.

Reacting to the Appeal Court’s decision on Monday, Marafa said the judgment has vindicated him and his colleagues.

He said: “I have always believed that the Zamfara State High Court ruling was nothing but a black market judgment that can never stand legal scrutiny.

“The Appeal Court judgment has rekindled the fact that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man.

“We are all living witnesses to the fact that the APC in Zamfara was unable to conduct primaries and couldn’t reach consensus due to the attitude of Yari, but the Zamfara State High Court judge ruled against the truth.

“The Appeal Court has today done justice by throwing the judgment of the Zamfara High Court to the trash bin, where it rightly belongs

“The statement by the Zamfara Government House on the Appeal Court judgment is the last kick of dying pigs, not even horses. You can’t build on nothing, APC didn’t conduct primaries, they don’t, therefore, have candidates in the just concluded elections.”
